In what we can call the reversal fo trend, Bharti Airtel Ltd and Vodafone Essar have quietly hiked the tariffs by 20%. All pre-paid and post-paid subscribers using lower end tariff pack with rentals les than Rs 150 / month will now have to pay Rs 1.20 per minute for calls between Airtel to Airtel or Vodafone to Vodafone. Local SMS rates are also up by 20% under the such scheme/s which will now cost Rs 1.20 per message.
Reliance Communications has not yet responded to Airtel and Vodafone price hikes, but they have their own means to rip customers by forcing them to subscribe to caller tunes etc.
