For the financial year ended March-2007, the Wireless/Mobile services revenue grew 56% YoY in India. Mobile service providers recorded revenues of 56,183 crore [~ $14 Billion] while the Wireline segment witnessed a 11.6% decline in revenues to Rs 30,190 crore [~ $7.5 Billion].
Indian consumers and corporates made more calls overseas recording a 58% jump in ILD revenues for Telcos at Rs 11,506 crore [~ $2.8 Billion]. NLD revenues were also lower in FY2007 by 20% at Rs 7,186 crore [ ~ $1.7 Billion]. Check out the historic fall in Indian NLD and ILD Tarrifs.
Internet and Broadband revnues grew 26% to Rs 2,040 crore [~ $500 Million] but this segment constitutes a patehtic 1.9% of the overall revenues of telecom service providers in India.
