Couple of days ago, I was a little bit overexcited to write about a Bangalore based company making the best use of Amazon’s Web Services, nothing but Bandwidth Grid, just like your Power Grid. You plug in your application and you are ready to go. Allan Leniwand, venture partner with Panorama Capital and founder of Vyatta explains the death of Network Engineers in Web 2.0 companies. So if you are a Web 2.0 company, you’ve got to rework on Build/Lease network infrastructure.
In a recent interview to Wired, Dr. Eric Schmidt said that Google is building massive data centers and quoted,
…in a year or two, the very large ones will be the small ones. That’s where a lot of the capital spending in the company is going.
So is it time that the Indian Government plan a Bandwidth Grid Corporation just like the Power Grid ? Let them first fix pending issues in NIXI and then we can think of Bandwidth Grids 😉
