DoT just a while ago made the demand for 3G spectrum available to the Public. As expected, Telecom Circle A and Metros are witnessing good demand though may fall short of our initial estimate. However, the surprise was even at Base Price, their are no takers for 3G Spectrum in Category B and Category C Circles. Here is how the demand looks like after completion of 5 rounds in Circle A and Metros,
- Delhi – Rs 373.29 cr – 3 Bidders Left – No Excess Demand [However, the are bit tricky as the guide suggests Auctioneer will announce new, higher clock price and invite new bids even when the number of current bids at the clock price is equal to the number of lots available to avoid coordinated outcomes]
- Mumbai, Mahrashtra, Gujarat, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh – Rs 362.66 Cr – Excess Demand of 1
- Karnataka – Rs 362.66 Cr – No Excess Demand
- Kolkata – 135.99 Cr – No Excess Demand
DoT officials are optimistic about the demand and expects it to go for few days. Lets Wait and Watch.
