Reliance maybe the first to launch WiMax Broadband for consumers in Bangalore, but had some issues and coverage was limited. Tata Communications [erstwhile VSNL] has launched “Limited Edition Special Offer” Indicom Wimax Broadband in Bangalore. [Yes that’s right, the official launch and branding are still in pipeline].
Tata Communications WiMax Infrastructure in Bangalore:
Unlike Reliance Communications, which kicked off with less than 50 WiMax towers, Tata Communications debut will be with over 120 WiMax towers linking corners of “Namma Bengalooru” 🙂 I had read a lot about DHCP issues with Reliance. It is told that, the problem was with their server being unable to handle too many requests when the connections were reset, mostly when new towers were added [some kind of system reset was done]. Tata Indicom has been extremely cautious about it.
Tata Communications – Indicom WiMax Broadband Plans and Offer:
In this limited edition special offer, [I am not sure when it ends, but is likely to run atleast till Dec-31st] consumers can choose from Pre-Paid or Post-Paid plans. More details on plans available on broadband forum.

Please do not go for TATA wimax connection. You will suffer forever. Also dont fall in for the “offers” given by ppl like Sunil Kumar and others. They are not employees of TATA,but some third party sales ppl whose sole purpose is to loot innocent people.
my sincere advice… dont go for TATA wimax.Installation will take more than 15 days and you will end up making 1000 calls to tata customer care(Worlds worst and pathatic customer care service)…Forget about any issues you face while using their services, you will have a horrible time to get the setup installed…
Dear all of you who would like to go for tata wimax… PLZZZZZZZZZZZ dont go.. the worst customer care service ever seen is found here… i have tata wimax connection . i have placed request for shifting it to my new location on 7/10/08 as per there them it takes 7 days. till today (1 month) it has not got shifted. i have made many calls to customer care, fought with them.. still no action.. and my connection is prepaid…. what else tata wants… they can make money without usage…

I have taken a Tata Indicom Wimax connection recently after Airtel kept me waiting for almost 1 month checking feasibility. Do I have an option to use internet on Multiple computers on the Wimax connection. Maybe through some Router available on the market. Has anybody got some experience on this with Wimax connection ?

U have not mentioned u r having static IP or getting ip automatically.
1, If static IP it can be done without any router just changing some configuration in backend
2, If dynamic IP it can be done using two LAN cards doing proxy configuration, or using wireless router..
