The High court of Delhi has asked BSNL not to award the contracts of it’s mega tender until Nov-16th when it will retake the case of Motorola’s disqualification. Motorola has challenged BSNL’s decision.
Recall, when mobile telephony licensing was thrown open, Bharti Tele-Ventures Ltd had won the bids for all the metros. But due to some vested interests, licensing went into the loop of power corridors, courts and finally they was awarded just the Delhi circle. This time around, with direct intervention from the PMO and the ball in Delhi High Court we hope it will be resolved soon enabling Indians to log on to 3G space.
In a separate development, Padmasree Warrior, the CTO of Motorola, Inc is very optimsitc on the prospects of wi-max and 4G.
