Bharti Airtel India’s best GSM service provider is all set to operate globally. Bharti bagged the 2G and 3G license in the channel island nation of Guernsey. Guernsey is roughly 78 Sq Kms in area and has a small population of just 66,000 people. Sure the deal won’t benefit the bottome line of Bharti Airtel Limited to a great extent but will make a difference.
Thinking outside the box about the deal, Airtel outbid other global telcos in the rat race. In the past few weeks I had analyzed Asian and Indian telcos and started a series of postings “Emergence of Asian Telecom Giants“. Bharti will now join the global race for gold in the fast changing world of 3G and 4G mobile communications.
