I wanted a secure web based email interface to communicate in my official capacity as an associate of this blog. Since their were some problems involved in configuring Convergence.In, I decided to use ConvergenceIndia.Com.
To setup your free Hotmail like web based e-mail on your own domain, sign up with Windows Live Custom Domains V 1.0. It’s out of beta. ConvergenceIndia.com mail accounts are hosted there. I have had absolutely no setup or configuration issues. It has the same UI and look and feel of Hotmail. If you want you can also upgrade towards Windows Live Mail interface. However, you cannot pop these e-mails to your outlook and the Windows Live team has to write up a FAQ for new users to read before they sign-up.
Just yesterday I noticed that while moving NameServers, the MX records associated with hotmail also got changed. I couldn’t access my e-mails and was afraid of losing contacts and 40 odd important e-mails. At priority-0 I started rolling back the changes made to DNS and MX records. Bingo! after an hour all my e-mails and contacts were intact. I am now confident to recommend this service to you and hence this piece of information.
