I just received the following SMS from our associate in Mumbai. Reliance Communications Ltd which had 20,502,327 subscribers at the end of Q2(June-2006) had a terrific Q3. Its subscriber base has increased to 23,412,519 at the end of Q3(Sept-2006) representing a 14.9% QoQ growth in subscribers. This includes Wireline, WLL(F) and Digital Mobile(CDMA). More than 90% of the additions have been in WLL(F) and CDMA Mobile.
Rival, Tata Indicom Ltd had a better quarter than Reliance Communications Ltd. Tata Indicom Ltd which had 10,787,021 subscribers at the end of Q2(June-2006) has managed to grow at 18.9% QoQ ending Q3(Sept-2006) with 12,826,749 customers. This includes Wireline, WLL(F) and Digital Mobile(CDMA). I think this is a new record in addition of customers on QoQ basis.
