With Web 2.0 companies gaining ground in India, one can see the drop in Reach and Rank to popular online destinations – Rediff, Sify and Indiatimes. Personally, Sify and Indiatimes are not even worth a visit due to poor design and ugly pop-ups.
I decided to see the Reach and Rank of Rediff in the past 6 months on Alexa and it is very interesting to note that Rediff’s daily Reach is down from little over 8,000 / Million to 5,000 / Million in 6 months period between Oct-06 and Mar-07. During the same period, Rediff’s Global Traffic Rank has dropped from 60s to 90s.
During the release of Q2 results, Rediff announced several new features such as Fare Search, Product Search, etc but they dont seem to be doing well or some other division of the Rediff is losing.
Today, Rediff announced that it will offer unlimited storage space to its e-mail users, maybe a stratgey to make users stick to Rediff.
